Isaac Chetcuti, Hugo Chetcuti’s brother, said that justice has finally been served although it does not make up for the family’s pain.
He wrote on social media after yesterday, the verdict came in of eight in favour and one against which found Bojan Cmelik, 39, guilty of murdering entrepreneur Hugo Chetcuti.
He said that this sentence has given his family some solace, and now his brother can rest in peace. Issac said that the family has been waiting for justice since the day his brother was murdered. He said that Hugo was killed in a very brutal way and that his murder devastated the lives of all those around him, especially their mother.
Luke, Hugo Chetcuti’s son, also wrote on social media that justice has been served. After several days of not commenting as the trial was still underway, Luke last night uploaded a post to pay tribute to his father. Along with the photo which he shared, he wrote that they can never bring him back but now he can rest in peace. He described his father as his hero and that he will never be forgotten.
Chetcuti, 52, died on 12 July 2018 after spending six days in ITU fighting for his life as a result of the stab wounds he received while he was outside one of his venues in Paceville.
Cmelik had spent some time working at one of the entrepreneur’s establishments but had been fired following arguments with his colleagues.
