Former Police Sergeant, Glen Carabott, 40, who stands charged with raping a woman, has been granted bail subject to a number of conditions.
Carabott is accused of going to investigate a theft report in mid-April, when he allegedly raped the woman who made the report.
Carabott, who is pleading not guilty, allegedly took a video of the act on the phone and passed it to the Police.
The request for bail was acceded to by the Court, presided over by Judge Aaron Bugeja, subject to a deposit of € 5,000 and a personal guarantee of another € 5,000.
Carabott is also required to sign every day at the Rabat Police Station, must not approach the alleged victim, and must not leave Malta.
